THE NETIZEN CONCEPT
The concept of NETIZENS follows the unprecedented technological
boom that we experience at the wake of this 21st century.
It's not surprising that the society adopts and adapts to new
technologies, but the rate at which these new communication
technologies is changing all human activities and method is amazing.
This agrees with technological determinism theory which says the
society and human behaviour is shaped by technological
development.
Just as we have people living in cities and refer to them as
"citizens" we now have people who live on the Internet which we
now refer to as "NETIZENS".
The Internet is made in way that, we can buy space in the cloud
and build website.
So people can come and rent rooms and cubicles online where they
keep their information and decorate it to their taste while people
come to their wall and interact with them as they read their personal
information .
This interaction could be between or among people of different
countries and continent.
As Marshall Mcluhan predicted in 1962 that distance will die and the
world then becomes nothing but a global village.
The concept of NETIZEN is established on the factors that.:
We now have
E-market
E-wallet
E-learning
E-commerce
E-banking
E-dating
E-marriage
E-transfer
etc.
So many people don't go out of their houses for many days just
because all their works and meetings for the week are scheduled
online.
So they practically live their lives and interact with their family online;
while others don't log out their social media account, they are always
online.
This are the NETIZENs and they make up a significant
percentage of the world populations.
