Today, Kyiv mourns the victims of russia’s massive attack against Ukraine’s capital on July 2.
Russia killed at least 30 civilians in that attack. Dozens of people were injured. We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those whose lives were taken by russia.
As a result of russia’s attack, damage was recorded across nearly every district of Kyiv. More than 20 residential buildings were damaged, along with an emergency medical station, ambulances, businesses, and other civilian infrastructure.
Despite the danger, rescuers, medics, and emergency crews continue working around the clock to save lives and help those affected. Psychologists from Ukraine’s State Emergency Service have already provided support to 190 people.
On this Day of Mourning, flags are flying at half-mast across Kyiv, and all entertainment events have been cancelled.
Eternal memory to those whose lives were taken by russia. These crimes must not go unanswered. Russia must be held accountable, and Ukraine must receive the support it needs to protect its people.
