A child learns best when they are healthy, well-nourished, and ready to learn. Through Right Start Namibia, WFP Namibia, Unicef Namibia, Ministry of Education Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare, Namibia and Ministry of Health and Social Services-Namibia are supporting to improve nutrition, early childhood development, and pre-primary education across Namibia giving every child the best possible start.

El Niño has been officially declared, with forecasts warning it could rank among the strongest in modern history.

This climate event shifts global weather patterns, raises temperatures, and drives more extreme conditions worldwide.

Impacts will vary by region and are expected to last between 9 and 18 months – in some regions into early 2028.

Yesterday, the WFP Namibia Country Director (a.i.), Mr. Simon Denhere, paid a courtesy visit to H.E Shinichi Asazuma the Ambassador of Japan to Namibia.

During the meeting, Ambassador Asazuma received a briefing on World Food Programme ongoing activities in Namibia, including efforts to strengthen food security across the country.

Furthermore, Mr. Denhere and Ambassador Asazuma reflected on past collaborative projects, discussed key food security priorities, and exchanged views on opportunities for future cooperation.
