With the Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) 2025 season already in its starting stages. The season kicked off with two First Division games that took place on Saturday. The Premier, Reserve and Women's League will commence on Saturday, the 15th of March.
In Windhoek Vipers Rugby Club hosted Oceans Rugby Club from the coast at Pioneerspark Primary School. The scoreboard remained nil all, well within the first few minutes of the first half as both teams managed to maintain composure. It was only in the 17th minute when Anton Potgieter managed to convert a penalty kick, bringing the score to 3:0 in favor of Vipers. William Abrahams then scored the first try of the game for the coastal visitors Oceans in the 25th minute.
The second half saw both teams try their best to attain more points. It was however only in the last minute of the game when Nicky Shimwe Shimakeleni from Vipers scored a try, solidifying their win against Oceans 8:5.

In the other NRU First Division game, Okahandja Highlanders Rugby beat a traveling Sparta United Rugby Club 15-3 in Okahandja.
