enjoys. A walkway leading down towards the turtle nesting beach reveals a hidden beach-side pavilion nestled in the dune forest, complete with a kitchenette for lunches by the bay. Two bedrooms in the beach pavilion are perfect for sleeping to the sound of the ocean. Low tide reveals a 60 meter long tidal pool towards the point that is ideal for calm water swimming, snorkelling and for children to paddle. The beautiful Machangulo peninsula is an unspoilt African wilderness situated in the Southern most part of Mozambique adjacent to Inhaca and Portuguese Islands in the Bay of Maputo. It has a land area of thousands of hectares and has over 20 kilometres of cinnamon colored sand beaches on the warm Indian Ocean. Within the peninsula are twelve substantial lakes and a vast territory of natural indigenous bush. The coastline falls within a marine reserve protecting endangered turtles and is flanked by the calmness of the bay on the Western side, the wildness of the Indian Ocean on the East and a major safari game reserve to the South. The estate’s private and exclusive landing strip is just 20 minutes flight from Maputo, the capital of Mozambique.
