Tips I’ve learned on creating interesting images when photographing “plainer looking food”.

Using contrasting colour backgrounds, sprinkling of ingredients, pops of colour with complimentary props, taking a bite and highlighting texture or shine will elevate a boring dish.

Remember to make sure your props are relevant to the dish as well. Of course, no photo is perfect and I sometimes look back on my work and wish that I tweaked one or two items. But it’s all part of growing and being patient with your progress. 💪🏼🤓
