🥐 However, there was an Austrian artillery officer goes by the name August Zang who founded a Viennese Bakery at 92, rue du richelieu in Paris where they served Viennese specialties such as the kipferl and the Vienna Loaf.

🥐 It may have Austrian orgins but the French made it their own. If you have to order a kipferl today in Austria, you would be given a cookie shaped crescent instead of a pastry.
