Strengthening Academic Collaboration: Plant Visit by INTI Subang & Heriot-Watt University

New Hoong Fatt recently welcomed students and representatives from INTI International College Subang and Heriot-Watt University for an insightful plant visit aimed at strengthening our industry–academic engagement.
This visit is part of NHF’s ongoing effort to create meaningful learning opportunities for students while driving innovation within the automotive manufacturing sector.

During the visit, our team introduced the visitors to NHF’s production workflow, quality processes, and cutting-edge technologies used in developing automotive plastic components. The visit provided students with real-world exposure to modern manufacturing practices, bridging the gap between classroom theory and industrial application.

A key highlight of the visit was the discussion on the Universal Runner Cutting Tool Development Project for Multi-Cavity Automotive Plastic Parts, a current collaboration with students from Heriot-Watt University. The project aims to explore innovative tooling solutions that enhance production efficiency and part quality.

We are excited to explore the possibility of expanding this project to include students from INTI Subang. Bringing both institutions together will not only enrich the project with additional perspectives but also contribute to NHF’s long-term goal of building strong, sustainable academic–industry partnerships.
