Supernormal Design Studio

In February this year, our interior design studio Supernormal Design Studio embarked on an inspiring trip to Sri Lanka to experience the iconic works of Geoffrey Bawa firsthand.

Walking through his spaces allowed us to study how design can harmonise with a tropical climate—something deeply relevant to our own context.

From natural ventilation woven seamlessly into architectural forms, to open courtyards, filtered light, and thoughtful material choices, every detail demonstrated how climate-responsive design can be both functional and beautifully expressive.

This journey reaffirmed our belief that interior design plays a critical role in shaping comfortable, sustainable environments, and in sensitively transforming existing architecture while preserving its spirit.
