Last week I was watching the sun set over Hanalei Bay. This week I’m staring at a mountain of laundry and an inbox that multiplied while I was gone. Here’s what I’ve learned about softening the landing 👇
→ Bring one ritual home. The slow morning coffee. The evening walk. You don’t need the islands to live a little more like you did there.

→ Don’t unpack the trip too fast. Let the joy linger in the ordinary — frame the photo, pour the good wine on a Tuesday.

→ Refocus with something to look forward to. The fastest cure for the post-trip blues isn’t denial. It’s a plan.

And because I’m always real with you about the money part: you don’t have to choose between being responsible and having something on the horizon. Start a “next escape” fund the week you get home when the feeling’s freshest.

Book early — the best stays and lowest fares reward planners, not scramblers. And travel the shoulder seasons for fewer crowds and softer prices.

The goal was never to stop missing it. It’s to keep going back.
