Happy birthday to Earl Palmer, he would have been 99 today. While playing with Fats Domino, Palmer invented the drum beat that would become synonymous with rock n roll music in the early 1950s and beyond.
He later went on to be an important member of the session group known as the Wrecking Crew, who played behind the scenes on hundreds of hit records by many famous artists. Earl Palmer is one of the most recorded drummers of all time!
