👥 500 statues "live" here. Most of them were modeled after real people — residents of a nearby village. Among the sculptures, you can find people praying, a little girl, a man on a couch watching TV, and even the iconic Volkswagen Beetle.🐠 It’s a living eco-project. The statues weren't made just for fun. They are cast from a special pH-neutral cement that attracts corals. Over time, the figures become covered in algae, turning into an artificial reef for fish, lobsters, and turtles. The museum literally "grows" every single day!🎨 The sculptures carry a deep meaning. The project's creator, British sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor, named the main exhibition "The Silent Evolution." It shows how nature takes back what is hers and how humans must coexist with the ocean instead of destroying it.🛥️ The museum saves real nature. Tourists were damaging Cancun’s natural coral reefs so badly that the authorities decided to create an alternative location. MUSA takes on up to 750,000 visitors a year, giving wild nature time to recover.
