Is it possible that you don’t know that you are abused?
Unfortunately it is!

Sadly many forms of abuse gets normalized and justified in families and society.
When you think about abuse most people think of physical and sexual abuse as most obvious.
But what about verbal and emotional abuse?
They don’t matter because they don’t leave any scars?

How come that the ritual practice of ge***al mutilation of young girls in Africa fills us with horror but circumcising baby boys regarded as normal?

But we don’t have to go to Africa.
Raise your hand if you ever have been criticized, insulted, yelled at, gaslighted, neglected, humiliated, invalidated or emotionally blackmailed!

Verbal and emotional abuse often gets justified and we grow up accepting it as normal.
Have you ever been told that you are too sensitive and should toughen up a bit? Or that you will never amount of anything because you are such a loser? Or that after everything I’ve done for you this is how you repay me? Sounds familiar?

Well this is verbal abuse and it is crossing the line.
Abuse is not love.
But many abuse others in the name of love.
Awareness is the first step to protect yourself.
And sometimes saying no, is the most loving thing to do!
