On this day in 1521 Tlatoani Cuauhtemoc surrendered the city of Tlatelolco, the last stronghold of the resistance against the spaniard invasion. This marked the end of the Mexica Empire.

Long Live Cuauhtemoctzin and all the brave warriors who defended their land and people with their lives.
