Sometimes we find ourselves in seasons of life where God speaks clearly, but the fulfillment of what He has spoken seems like a barely flickering candle wick, burnt to the nub on its last few remnants of wax. And it seems like it’s still sitting at the top of a hill just out of reach, even though you’ve been climbing it for what seems like eternity. He is obviously present, but the sustenance of His promise seems painfully absent. I wrote this devotional somewhere between the Genesis and Exodus of one of the many times I have found myself in one of these very seasons.
