7TH UN GLOBAL ROAD SAFETY WEEK

Union of Kabaza and Motorcycle Operators (UKAMO) joined hands with the government and various stakeholders in commemoration of the 7th UN Global Road Safety week which took place from 15th_21th May 2023 at Lilongwe City Council.

This year's event was commemorted on a theme of Rethink mobility, calling for modal shift including walking, cycling and use of public transport.

The 7th UN Global Safety Week commemorates the need for the government and partners to rethink mobility including vesting in walking, cycling and using public transport which can promote equity and health of people.

During the ceremony, the Mayor of Lilongwe City, Richard Banda signed an International Walking Charter.
