Well done Team WAG
A powerful demonstration of leadership and solidarity—amplifying the voices of women and girls with disabilities is essential to ending GBV and advancing true inclusion. 💜✊🏾
It was a great honour to conclude the year at the WAG Resource Centre this Christmas as Board Chairperson of Women and Girls with Disabilities in Malawi (WAG), celebrating alongside our rights holders. As part of our end-of-year engagement, over 150 women and girls with disabilities gathered at the Resource Centre for a luncheon, creating space for connection, reflection, and shared joy.
The warmth, unity, and resilience witnessed during this gathering reaffirmed why inclusive governance, rights-based development, and the meaningful participation of persons with disabilities must remain central to our work. Moments like these underscore the importance of dignity, accountability, and sustained investment in disability-inclusive development.
As the United Nations reminds us, “No one must be left behind.” This principle continues to guide our commitment to advancing equality, inclusion, and leadership that places women and girls with disabilities at the centre of decision-making.
