A Milestone in Maldivian’s Fleet Renewal Journey ✈️
Today we bid farewell to DHC-8-300 8Q-IAS (MSN 546) — 14+ years, 29,000+ flight hours, and 37,000+ cycles connecting the people of the Maldives.
As part of our fleet modernisation, the DHC-8s are making way for a new generation of ATR aircraft — more comfortable, efficient, reliable, and sustainable.
Following a public RFP, 8Q-IAS departed for Canada on 16 July 2026, returning to De Havilland Canada, its original manufacturer, 26 years after it was built — bringing its journey full circle.
Onward to a modern, sustainable fleet. 🇲🇻
