The Giant Burmese Bamboo (Dendrocalamus giganteus) at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya, is world-famous. Introduced from Myanmar in 1856, it is the largest bamboo species globally, reaching heights of 30 meters. Its massive, towering culms create a breathtaking natural cathedral.
