We are excited to announce that Maldives Leadership Program (MLP) participants are en route to Dubai for their graduation of the 9 month leadership training program conducted by the capacity building workstream of the UAE’s Government Experience Exchange Program. MLP Participants will also attend the World Government Summit 2024 which will be held from 12-14 February.

Maldives Leadership Program Group-5 (Digitalization for Data Driven Decision Making and Efficient Delivery of Services) focused their project on potential ways to harness the capabilities of the "Madhadhu" Portal to streamline the collection of data on vulnerable populations within rural communities and facilitate the dissemination of vital information for decision making and service provision.
The project goals also included inter stakeholder collaboration, transparency, accountability and reducing inequality. Based on their findings, the group presented recommendations on how to enhance the “Madhadhu Portal”, a future road map and a plan to conduct a pilot project.
Stakeholders of this capstone project includes Local Government Authority, Ministry of Gender Family and Social Services, Ministry of Health, Republic of Maldives, National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) and National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT).

Maldives Leadership Program Group-3, (Enhancing Independent and Transparent Monitoring and Policy Evaluation in Government) focused their presentation on current monitoring and evaluation system practiced in the Maldives government.
During their presentation to the stakeholders Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure - Maldives, Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology, Maldives, they shared an analysis of the current situation and insights on how monitoring and evaluation is carried out in some developed countries focusing on areas like evaluation system, democratic policy making, digital engagement, technology etc...
Based on their findings, the team proposed recommendations on practices which can be implemented in Maldives, along with a future roadmap.

Maldives Leadership Program Group-2, (Enhancing Citizen Engagement of Male’ City) concentrated their presentation on exploring the best practices to encourage meaningful and sustainable citizen engagement in government decision-making.
Sharing their project findings with the stakeholders including Male' City Council, they emphasized several key points, including current situation analysis, a SWOT analysis, and insights from practices of developed countries. Taking inspiration from these insights, the team presented a set of recommendations, a prospective roadmap, and a conceptual solution for addressing the issue they outlined.
