e of her family, to later embark in the passionate and bumpy journey of becoming a Chef. Being an artist, when it came to choosing a career path, it never dawned on her that she could become a Chef. Lost, she got encouraged by her close kins to pursue her studies in the culinary field. Why culinary you wonder? Well, sometimes people’s inspirations and dreams get to them before they reach out. Ayushi, was a gifted cook well before she decided to join the industry academically and professionally. She believes, her dad left her his legacy which she will ensure touches a lot of souls positively! With the endless support of her mom and Acoustics & Sound Engineer, Natesh Makhan, she got herself a degree in BA Fine Arts and HND Culinary Art with merits. Being a girl and physically perceived as a weak gender, it was during that very period itself that she started getting sexist comments of “this field is not made for women, go get some work in an office of some sort” types. This is what made the fire in her burn as hard as never before! She has now been amazingly living the Chef life for 5 years now, working endlessly and tirelessly. Unstoppable, she skyrocketed so quickly, so fiercely and so gracefully in her profession – from Demie Chef de Partie to later become Chef de Partie, Junior Sous Chef, Sous Chef and now, Head Chef, but the best is yet to come! She’s worked with the likes of locally renowned Chefs - Nizam Peeroo, Mougam Pareeatambee and Paul Ng. She excelled under the mentorship of Chefs Kallaram, Pawan Coomar and Troubat in culinary school. Chef Yu left her unique culinary mark in many renowned places like Trou aux Biches Hotels and Resorts, Michelin Starred Hotel- Le Spinaker Hotel in France, Carnival Corporation UK, AIDA Cruises, Casela Restaurant, Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort and Le Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel. And now she is all set to be the face and Head Chef of Ti Moris in Bali. She’s seen the world; she’s explored a lot. Her imagination, her inventive styles, and creativity in her dishes has left a lot of people spellbound and awestruck. For a girl, she is actually one hell of an inspiration to many! Her motto: “Whatever category of eater you might be, I’m going to hit the mark and hit it just right and beyond. All you need to do is trust what I bring to the table; your food choices will never be the same again! “
