The founder of the EcoShe Project and member of the Regional Youth Parliament for the Indian Ocean, Nancy Barisoa, participated in the 4th Intergenerational Dialogue Forum in Mauritius. Nancy facilitated a thematic session on gender-based violence that produced key recommendations for COMESA’s island states. In plenary, discussions intensified around the question of equity versus equality for women, underscored by alarming realities: according to UN Women, one woman or girl is killed every 10 minutes by an intimate partner or family member, and in Madagascar, one in three women aged 15-49 has experienced gender-based violence.
