In May 2006, a team of Magic Fingers won the Silver Award in the “INNOVATORS” competition organized by the National Productivity and Competitiveness Council (NPCC) in relation to the reduction, reuse and recycling of textile waste. Following that award, Magic Fingers obtained a good quantity of reject from Socota Textile Mills and New Island Clothing (NIC). As a result of the NPCC award, as a group leader of Magic Fingers, Mrs. Ramanjooloo was nominated by the Commonwealth Secretariat to attend the 5th Commonwealth-India Small Business Competitiveness Development Programme in India in November 2006. In 2007, Mrs. Ramanjooloo grouped a number of women and formed an association. Thus in June 2007, Magic Fingers Association was officially registered.
