After six unforgettable days, 1,100km on the road, and a journey filled with determination, teamwork and heart, the cyclists of The VisitMalta ALIVE2026 Cycling Challenge for Cancer Research have officially arrived back home in Malta. 💙

From Bratislava to Vienna, through heat, headwinds, hills, rain and even hail, the team pushed through every challenge that came their way - all in aid of cancer research.

Today, the cyclists and support team returned home carrying tired legs, unforgettable memories, and the pride of having completed another incredible ALIVE challenge together. Upon their arrival back in Malta, the team was also interviewed by TVM, sharing their experience of the journey and the purpose behind this year’s challenge.

A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who made this journey possible - our cyclists, support crew, volunteers, sponsors and all those who followed and encouraged the team throughout the challenge. Special thanks also to Centrecom for their support with the team’s return travel arrangements, helping bring everyone safely back home after an extraordinary week on the road.

🏁 WE MADE IT! 🚴💙

After six unforgettable days, 1,100km, scorching heat, strong headwinds, hills, rain, hail and every challenge the road could throw at them, the cyclists of The VisitMalta ALIVE2026 Cycling Challenge for Cancer Research have officially reached Vienna.

Today’s final 165km stage brought strong headwinds that made every kilometre harder earned, but the team dug deep, kept pushing and crossed the finish line together at the Hilton Waterfront Hotel - completing yet another incredible ALIVE challenge.
What a journey it has been.

From Bratislava to Vienna, through heatwaves of over 40°C, tough climbs, long days on the bike, and moments that truly tested every cyclist physically and mentally, this team never gave up. They kept pedalling with one goal in mind: to raise funds and awareness for cancer research.

At the finish line, the cyclists were welcomed at a short reception organised by the Embassy of Malta in Austria and VisitMalta. We also thank Garmin and Xjenza Malta for being present for this special moment. A heartfelt thank you goes to our long-standing Garmin representative, who once again was there at the finish line to greet the cyclists and present them with a token gift — a gesture that means so much to the ALIVE family.

And after days on the road, there was also a little taste of home waiting at the finish, with Twistees, Kinnie and Cisk at the reception 🇲🇹

To every cyclist, support team member, sponsor, donor and supporter who followed this journey, encouraged the team and believed in this cause - thank you. This challenge is over, but the reason behind it is bigger than any finish line.

⛰️ Day 6 Update 🚴💙

The cyclists of The VisitMalta ALIVE2026 Cycling Challenge for Cancer Research are on the final stretch of this incredible journey.

Today’s route has brought with it quite a few hills, putting the team to the test once again as they push on towards the finish line. Despite the tough climbs, spirits remain high as the cyclists know that a special welcome awaits them at the end, with a group of supporters ready to cheer them on as they complete this challenge.

One final push. One final ride. Let’s bring them home strong! 💪
