The hands are Michelangelo's. The scales aren't about justice, they're about him, the daily pull between what he feels and what he thinks. The moon phases on the blade because nothing stays the same for long. And a thread running through the whole thing, connecting it all.

The forearm is one of those placements you can't ignore. You see it every day; it changes how you carry yourself, how you move through a room. Also, genuinely one of the nicest surfaces to work on.

If this is how you think about design, The Echo Foundation Programme has five spots open. Applications close May 16.

There's something about classical figures that keeps pulling me back. The stillness of them. The way they were built to last, not to impress in the moment but to mean something over time. That's what drew me to this composition, the statue, the column, the geometry that holds it all together. Nothing in here is accidental. Every element earned its place.

One of those sessions where the hours disappear.
If you draw and you think about work this way — The Echo Foundation Programme is open until May 16.
