LifeWalk 2020 & 2021
The LifeWalk Challenge is a high-endurance fundraising initiative by the LifeCycle Malta Foundation to support kidney disease research and renal patient care.
Participants walked across the narrowest width of England, following Hadrian's Wall from Bowness-on-Solway to Wallsend.
The Challenge: A grueling 145-kilometer trek completed in just 4 days, averaging roughly 35 km of walking per day.
Walk 1 (October 2021):
The inaugural event, created during the COVID-19 pandemic as a substitute for the foundation’s postponed South American cycling challenge. Over 30 participants completed the trek in harsh autumn conditions.
Walk 2 (May 2024):
A follow-up edition organized due to the success of the first. Walkers tackled the same coast-to-coast route, facing steep elevations and unseasonal weather to hit the 4-day deadline.
Funds raised directly finance kidney research through the University of Malta and support the Renal Unit Support Hub (R.U.S.H.) for dialysis patients.
