From Malta to the USA – A Journey of Care 💙🌍

Last week, the Good Samaritan Hospital team had the privilege of helping an elderly gentleman return safely home to the United States.

While on holiday in Malta, he became unwell with pneumonia and confusion. From the moment he arrived at our hospital, our priority was not only to treat his medical needs but to ensure he felt safe, supported, and cared for.

When it was time for him to return home, we knew this journey would need more than just a ticket — it would require a companion every step of the way. One of our dedicated team members travelled with him, providing medical and personal support on the plane, assisting through airport procedures, and staying by his side until he was reunited with his loved ones in North Carolina.

We are deeply grateful to the US Embassy in Malta for their assistance, and to the patient’s family for their constant communication and trust in us.

For us, this was more than a logistical task — it was an honour. Being able to take a patient from our care in Malta all the way to his family in the United States is a testament to our commitment: our care doesn’t stop at the hospital door; it goes wherever our patients need us.
