အားလုံးပဲ good morning ပါခင်ဗျာ။ ☀️

ဒီနေ့မှာတော့ ကျွန်တော်ကနေပြီးပေါ့ပေါ့ပါးပါးနဲ့ သုံးလို့ကောင်းမယ့် idiom လေးတစ်လုံးကို learners တို့ကို sharing လေးလုပ်သွားချင်ပါတယ်

အဲ့ idiom လေးက ဘာလဲဆိုရင် "smell a rat" လိုခေါ်ပါတယ်။ အဓိပ္ပာယ်လေးကတော့ တစ်ခုခုက မှားယွင်းနေပြီလို့ ခံစားလိုက်ရတဲ့ အခါမှာ သုံးလို့ရပါတယ်။ ဥပမာအားဖြင့်ဆိုရင်

👱‍♂️Harry: How come the front door is open? Didn't you close it before we went shopping?
Harry: ဘာလို့အိမ်ရှေ့တံခါးက ပွင့်နေတာလဲ? ငါတို့ shopping မထွက်ခင်က မင်း တံခါးကို သေချာမပိတ်ခဲ့ဘူးလား Marry ရေ?

👩‍🦰Marry: I'm sure I did. I can't understand it.
Marry: ငါတံခါးကိုသေချာပိတ်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ဒါပေမယ့် ခုဘာလို့ တံခါးကြီးက ပွင့်နေရတာလဲဆိုတာကို ငါနားမလည်နိုင်ဘူး။

👱‍♂️Harry: I smell a rat.
Harry: ငါထင်တော့ တစ်ခုခုတော့မှားနေပြီ Marry ရေ

👩‍🦰Marry: Me, too. I'm convinced that something is definitely wrong here.
Marry: ငါရောပဲ။ ဒီနေရာမှာ တစ်ခုခုတော့မှားနေပြီဆိုတာ သေချာတယ်။

👱‍♂️Harry: We'd better call the police.
Harry: ငါတို့ရဲခေါ်တာပိုပြီးကောင်းလိမ့်မယ်။

Smell a rat = (feel that something is wrong) or (convinced that something is definitely wrong) 🐭

ဒါဆိုရင်တော့ ဒီနေ့မှာ share သွားခဲ့တဲ့ idiom လေးကို learners တို့အနေနဲ့ လက်တွေ့ဘ၀မှာ ပြန်အသုံးချနိုင်မယ်လို့လည်း မျှော်လင့်ပါတယ်။

အဲ့တော့ ဒီ post လေးကြိုက်နှစ်သက်တယ်ဆိုရင်လည်း သူငယ်ချင်းတွေ မိတ်ဆွေတွေကို ထပ်မံ sharing လုပ်ပေးပါဦးလို့ မေတ္တာရပ်ခံချင်ပါတယ်ခင်ဗျ။
