Ms. Higashi has been working for JICE Kansai Office since 2018. As a JICE coordinator, her responsibility is to support JDS fellows directly while they are staying in their university area.

“Hello from Osaka! Some of you may recognize me if you studied in Kansai-area/Hiroshima. I really hope that your study or experience in Japan is still an important part of yourself.

It has been very difficult time for all of us since this COVID-19 pandemic started. Both travelling inside and outside the country were restricted, and this had huge impact on JDS fellows as well. To talk about myself a little, I love travelling, and was used to travel to foreign countries during holiday seasons. Due to rapid advancement of ICT technology, we can now virtually travel or study in foreign countries without being there. However, I still think it is important to be physically there to experience the culture and atmosphere. Though the situation seems to be improving, I hope this pandemic will over soon and we can travel without any limitations.
