Resistance forces seize Myit Chay police station, capture 14 junta personnel

Resistance forces led by the Pakkoku District Command under the Magway Region Military Headquarters seized the Myit Chay police station during a pre-dawn attack on Wednesday, according to the General Headquarters of the People's Defence Force (PDF).
The operation began at 4 a.m. on June 10, with resistance forces reportedly taking full control of the police station by 5 a.m.
According to the PDF, two regime personnel were killed during the fighting, while 14 others were captured and detained as prisoners of war. The group said all detainees are being held in accordance with international humanitarian law and military regulations.
The PDF also stated that any individuals found to have committed war crimes would face legal action under relevant military laws.
Weapons and military equipment seized during the operation included 18 G-3 rifles, one M79 gr***de launcher, two revolvers, one 60 mm commando mortar, 27 G-3 magazines, one handmade air rifle, seven ballistic helmets, and 1,908 rounds of G-3 ammunition.
According to the PDF, the attack came after a series of alleged atrocities committed by regime forces in the area.
Between May 10 and June 2, regime troops reportedly carried out scorched-earth operations in Myit Chay Town in Pakkoku District, burning more than 1,000 homes and other civilian properties. The PDF also alleged that 24 local residents were burned to death during the operations.

The Myanmar military junta's navy has seized a civilian cargo boat carrying food supplies and detained 13 traders in Ramree Township, Arakan State, according to local residents.
