عن أمنا عَائِشَةَ رضي الله عنها قَالَت: "قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ عَلِمْتُ أَيُّ لَيْلَةٍ لَيْلَةُ القَدْرِ، مَا أَقُولُ فِيهَا؟
قَالَ عليه الصلاة والسلام : قُولِي: "اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عُفُوٌّ، تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ، فَاعْفُ عَنِّي".
