🗣 “So… how was the marathon?”
We’re pretty sure this has been the most frequently asked question in every office this week - whether people are gathering by the coffee machine, grabbing lunch, or filling those awkward silences before a Zoom call.
Sun Finance is no different… and oh boy, we do have reasons to talk!🤩

🏃This year, 25 colleagues took on different challenges at the Rimi Riga Marathon :

🎯15 ran 10 km
🎯 6 conquered the half marathon (21 km)
🎯 4 powered through 6 km
🎯 And one absolute legend somehow decided one distance wasn’t enough… and ran BOTH the 21 km and 10 km. Well… who needs those knees anyway? 🤷

What’s even more impressive? Many smashed their personal bests this year, while others proved that simply showing up, pushing forward, and crossing the finish line is already a huge win.
And who knows - maybe next year someone will wake up one morning and say: “Call it a midlife crisis or whatever, but I’m running a full marathon… and nobody’s stopping me.”

Whether it was a new record, a first race, or just surviving the last kilometer with dignity intact, we’re incredibly proud of every single one of them. 👏💪
Team spirit looks good in running shoes!

🚘 Our CEO Toms Jurjevs believes that business is not so different from driving a car – how fast you can go depends on the gear you’re in. And recently, we shifted into the next one by reaching an important milestone: the total amount of our loans issued worldwide has exceeded 5 000 000 000 EUR! 👏

“Nowadays, almost everyone drives automatic, but back in my day, manual cars were the go-to choice. Building a business is very similar to driving in first gear – you start slowly and gradually pick up speed, gear by gear. Now we can proudly say we’ve reached fifth gear, and from here, we can accelerate faster than ever!” says Toms.

Five billion is more than just a number – it reflects years of dedication, innovation, trust, and teamwork. As usual, we marked the occasion with some sweet calorie intake, starting the tradition with four cakes last year, and five - in 2026! If we keep accelerating at this pace, it’s obvious we’re going to need a bigger table soon… Not that it’s a bad thing though. 🎂
