n levels the primary teaching staff is supported by local German speaking teaching assistants who also understand Latvian and Russian. The focus of the academic and pedagogic curricula at the pre-school and kindergarten levels is on the acquisition of the German language by non-native speaking students, so they will have a smooth start into 1st grade. 1st grade students will study a second language for 5 hours per week and can choose between Latvian or Russian. English is offered as a 3rd language for 5 hours per week. Steps are underway to accredit the school in the Latvian school system, allowing students to switch into a Latvian school later any time. For the next school year 2025/26 the school accepts children ages 1.25-15 (children born 2009-2023). Regular daily course hours are from 08:30 till 15:30, but the school doors are open from 08:00-18:30. After 15:30 the school offers optional afternoon activities as well as supervised after hour child care until 18:30.
