Starting in April, ISSP is launching a new project “Riga Neighborhoods Through the Lens – Inclusive Photowalks for International Students”. The aim of the initiative is to promote integration of third-country nationals into Latvia’s cultural environment, offering international students an opportunity to explore Riga’s neighborhoods, meet Latvian photographers and build connections with local communities.
The main target group is third-country students, but local university students are also invited to take part. Participants will also be invited to take part in creative zine workshops and an exhibition reflecting on their experience.
The first photowalk will take place on April 26 in Āgenskalns with photographer Reinis Hofmanis. If you are an international student in Riga interested in taking part, contact us!
The project is supported by the EU Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund and Ministry of Culture of Latvia, via the programme that promotes innovative and inclusive approaches to the integration of third countries’ citizens.
