Šodien mums ir īpaša un vēsturiska diena.

Ar lielu lepnumu un prieku varam paziņot, ka SUSTENTO valdes priekšsēdētāja Gunta Anča šodien ir ievēlēta par Eiropas Invaliditātes foruma prezidenti.

Tas ir liels gods gan Guntai personīgi, gan SUSTENTO, gan visai Latvijas cilvēku ar invaliditāti kustībai. Tas apliecina, ka arī nelielas valsts balss Eiropā var būt stipra, sadzirdēta un ietekmīga.

Savā runā Gunta uzsvēra atbildību pret cilvēkiem ar invaliditāti visā Eiropā, nepieciešamību stiprināt invaliditātes organizācijas un pārliecību, ka princips “Neko par mums bez mums” nedrīkst būt tikai sauklis, bet tam jābūt ikdienas darba metodei.

Mēs esam ļoti lepni un novēlam Guntai spēku, izturību un drosmi šajā nozīmīgajā darbā!

Today is a special and historic day.

With great pride and joy, we are pleased to announce that Gunta Anča, Chairperson of SUSTENTO, has today been elected President of the European Disability Forum.

This is a great honour not only for Gunta personally, but also for SUSTENTO and for the entire movement of persons with disabilities in Latvia. It proves that the voice of even a small country in Europe can be strong, heard, and influential.

In her speech, Gunta emphasized the responsibility towards people with disabilities across Europe, the need to strengthen disability organizations, and the conviction that the principle “Nothing about us without us” must not remain just a slogan, but should become a method of everyday work.

We are incredibly proud and wish Gunta strength, resilience, and courage in this important role.
