Spain to restrict cryptocurrency advertising

The restrictions affect advertising campaigns with an estimated audience of more than 100,000 people. Their organizers will have to notify the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) at least 10 days in advance of the publication of the advertisement. Advertising messages will also have to be accompanied by disclaimers about potential risks.

The new rules will take effect in mid-February and will apply to individuals and companies. They will affect not only TV channels and radio companies, but also bloggers who publish ads in social networks.

The rewards for advertising cryptocurrencies will need to be reported. A fine of up to 300,000 euros is provided for non-compliance with the requirements.
