Coming from India to study Electronics Engineering at KTU Kauno technologijos universitetas/Kaunas University of Technology, Mona arrived in Lithuania not knowing what to expect – the slower pace of life felt completely foreign at first. But Lithuania unfolded slowly for her 🇱🇹✨

From learning simple phrases like Laba diena and Ačiū, to random bus rides through Kaunas and working on sustainability-focused engineering projects during her studies, Mona gradually found comfort in the small moments and quiet kindness of the people around her.

What if a student project could help save lives? 👀🌊

The drone, developed by talented KTU Kauno technologijos universitetas/Kaunas University of Technology students Armin, Vladyslav, Yevhenii and Tadiwanashe, is not just a prototype, but a response to a problem they could not ignore. "Our goal is to help lifeguards save the lives of people in danger of drowning,” says Tadiwanashe.

The project is being improved and has already been presented at a national-level event in the Lithuanian Seimas (Parliament). With more time and development, the team believes it can grow into a real product 🚀

‘I see great potential in Lithuania. It has beautiful landscapes and a very clean environment. I can see my future here,’ says Vilnius University alumna Nethra, who came here to study International Business Management 📈 💼

According to Nethra, the Global Business and Economics programme at VU was very engaging. Although Nethra graduated almost four years ago, she still keeps in touch with some of her former faculty members.

She currently works as a Business Support Specialist at ‘eFront’ within ‘Alter Domus’, a company operating in the field of alternative investments. Nethra also collaborates with the Embassy of India in Lithuania, contributing to the organisation of events.
