🌱 Traditions live as long as we uphold them. Each May, the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) brings its community together for the Culture Week to share meaningful experiences and reconnect.

🧘 This year, members of the LSMU community are invited to mindfully explore the balance between work and leisure and discover their own “mindful pause”. This pause may take different forms, from highly engaging activities to a quiet walk.

This advice comes from the doctor’s own professional experience. Having started working at an Emergency Room as early as during his second year of medical studies, the future medical doctor gained practical skills and learned the basics of a doctor’s conduct – not to be afraid of people, not to hesitate to touch or speak to patients, regardless of their social status or the health issue they present with.

“The future starts now!” joyfully proclaim the researchers at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences as they switch on a 3D drug printer. 🎓 A university degree in Nursing may open doors to an exciting career in less conventional settings, such as an operating theatre. The nurses that work there are rightly called the professional “sleep fairies” as they are the ones who welcome the patient before the operation, reassure them, prepare them for the procedure, administer medication, and ensure that the patient does not feel pain during surgery.
