The International Human Rights Lab is pleased to announce that the grand opening of our Legal Luminary Mentorship Program for law students and graduates from SADC countries will take place this Saturday.

The program marks the beginning of an important journey of mentorship, knowledge exchange and professional growth.

At the Lab, we remain deeply committed to the professional development of young people, particularly within the legal field and to creating opportunities that equip the next generation of practitioners with the skills, insight and support they need to thrive.

Africa’s strength has always been carried by the resilience, brilliance, and courage of her women. This Africa Day, we celebrate the influential women across the continent who continue to shape history, break barriers, lead with purpose, and inspire generations to dream beyond limitations. The future of Africa is brighter because of African women.

To every artist, vendor, partner, volunteer and community member; thank you for helping us create a space rooted in visibility, inclusion, joy and human rights. This was more than an event, it was a reminder that q***r people belong, deserve to be heard and remain at the heart of democracy.

To commemorate the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), the International Human Righ, Unlocking love, The People's Matrix Association and Q***r WorX jointly hosted a vibrant celebratory event in Hlotse under the theme “At the Heart of Democracy.” The event brought together community members, activists, partners and allies to reflect on the importance of inclusion, equality, dignity and human rights for LGBTIQ+ persons within democratic spaces.

During the commemoration, attendees observed a moment of silence in honor of departed LGBTIQ+ persons whose lives were lost due to violence, discrimination, stigma and other challenges faced by the community. This meaningful moment served as a reminder of the importance of continuing the fight for acceptance, protection, equality and justice for all.
The celebration also created a safe and empowering platform for engagement, awareness raising and community building. Through various activities and discussions, participants strengthened solidarity and reaffirmed the collective commitment towards building a more inclusive and equitable society in Lesotho.

This successful event was made possible through the valuable support and collaboration of Gender Links, Kick4Life and Help Lesotho, whose contributions played a significant role in ensuring the success of the commemoration.
