On September 20, 2024, Environmental Rescue Initiative in collaboration with the Liberia National Tourism Association and the Harrisburg Citizens for Development joined millions of people around the word to celebrate World Cleanup Day 2024. This citizens-led initiative was graced by members of the Armed Forces of Liberia, the U.S. Embassy Monrovia, Liberia's Public Affairs Department, Students and women from the township of Harrisburg. We used the day to create awareness about the global burden of waste, and emphasized the roles of ordinary citizen in waste management. Thanks to our sponsors and partners for their support in making this day a success.
Attendance: 51
Impact: We cleanup an dump site removing 73 loads of waste. The plastic content of the waste will be recycled into beautiful back bags and rain coats.
We are happy to share that our community-based plastic recycling initiative has been featured on Deutsche Welle! This incredible opportunity allows us to showcase the hard work and dedication of our community in creating a more sustainable future, one recycled piece of plastic at a time.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey. Together, we are making a difference! 💚♻️

In keeping with societal change, thereby positively ensuring that our environment is kept clean thus using waste (single-used plastic) to produce rain gears, back bags, etc., we are focus towards decentralizing our production site, starting with Monrovia, so as to incorporate determined, dedicated, disciplined young people or emerging environmentalists in joining our team.
We believe that this process of decentralization and incorporating like-minded young people is a form of empowerment.
As we forge ahead, don't forget to purchase. Come and buy your strong Liberia-made back bags.
We have lots of designs with different prices— $30, $25, $20, $15 according to sizes.
