As an institution, we are humble to have received a certificate of appreciation from the Innovative & Visionary Volunteers of Liberia for our tireless voluntary work that is impacting the lives of Liberian students and the world at large.

Receiving the certificate on Saturday December 5th on behalf of SEA were J Victor Mricado Kamuyeah Jr. (Our Program Director) and Cecelia D. Salee ( Volunteer).

Let's keep changing the narrative...

Today, education remains an inaccessible right for millions of children around the world.
According to Humanium, More than 72 million children of primary education age are not in school and 759 million adults are illiterate and do not have the awareness necessary to improve both their living conditions and those of their children. For many children who still do not have access to education, it is notable because of persisting inequality and marginalization, or extreme poverty.

Undeniably, many children from disadvantaged backgrounds are forced to abandon their education due to lack of school fees. As a result, more than 72 million children around the world remain unschooled. Sub-Saharan Africa is the most affected area with over 32 million children of primary school age remaining uneducated.

In 2016, UNICEF reported that nearly two third of Liberian children have never stepped in school and the country has the highest portion of children missing out on primary school education. Most of the countries highlighted by UNICEF in its first global out-of-school ranking are in Sub Saharan Africa, with Liberia coming first in the ranking.

It's important to note that the lack of schooling and poor education have negative effects on Liberia's population and country. The children leave school without having acquired the basics, which greatly impedes the social and economic development of our country.

To help solve this problem, SEA will be implementing it's Financial Aid Program for high school students in Liberia come the 2020-2021 academic year, which is scheduled to begin in December. This program is design to pay the full tuition of less fortunate children and also provide them with all necessary materials needed for school. Join us and let's change the narrative together.
