🚨 😭😭😭According to the National AIDS Commission, there are now 36,000 Liberians living with HIV/AIDS, an increase from 34,000 last year in 2024.

Dr. Cecelia Nuta, the Commission Chairperson, emphasized that women are by far the most affected group, underscoring the urgent need for tailored interventions and stronger domestic support for HIV services as National AIDS Day approaches on December 1.

How many of them are women?

Based on UNAIDS data, adult women in Liberia (ages 15–49) have a higher HIV prevalence (1.2%) than men (0.6%).
If we apply that proportion to the 36,000 figure, about 24,000 of the people living with HIV in Liberia are likely women.

Moral Lesson: 24,000 Liberian women between the ages of 15-49 are living with aids. 😭😭 Why 12,000 men are living also living with aids.
