Worldâs Most Expensive Canine Sells for Over $5.8 Million
An Indian dog breeder recently paid 500 million rupees ($5.81 million ) for a unique cross between a real wolf and a Caucasian Shephard, making it the most expensive canine in the world.
Named Cadabomb Okami, the pricy canine was reportedly bred in the US and purchased by S. Satish, a Bengaluru-based dog enthusiast and the president of the Indian Dog Breeders Association. He is renowned for his collection of over 150 dog breeds, including some of the rarest in the world. Satish told Indian reporters that he felt the 500 million rupee price tag was worth it for Cadabomb Okami because he is literally one of a kind. Plus, he is an impressive specimen; at just eight months old he already weighs 75kg and stands 30 inches tall.
âHe is an extremely rare breed of dog and looks exactly like a wolf. This breed has not been sold in the world before,â S. Satish said. âI spend money on these dogs because they are rare. Besides, I get enough money because people are always curious to see them. They take selfies and pictures. My dog and I get more attention than an actor at a movie screening! We both are crowd-pullers.â
Interestingly, this is not the Indian dog breederâs first extravagant purchase. Last year, he bought a rare Chow-Chow specimen that allegedly bears a striking resemblance to a red panda for $3.25 million.
Satish keeps his over 150 dogs on his seven-hectare estate and showcases the rarest of them at events all around India for which he gets paid between $3,000 and 12,000. He has already started using Okami to win back his investment, showcasing him at several high-profile events, including film premieres, in Karnataka. He claims people flock to see the worldâs most expensive dog even more than they usually do his other dogs.

Africa Mourns Veteran journalist Shaka Ssali has died
We are deeply saddened by the loss of our brother and comrade Shaka Ssali," former Ugandan Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda wrote on X (formerly Twitter). In Kabale, Shaka was a childhood friend of other young people.
"As young men, we would read newspapers, go to meetings, work in the gardens, and talk about politics," Rugunda continued. He made a significant contribution to the media industry, particularly by promoting African causes on Voice of America, and was fervent about both African and global issues.
According to Dr. Rugunda, Ssali played a key role in bringing Africa and the rest of the world together and was a strong supporter of training African journalists.
"His death serves as a reminder to young people to put in a lot of effort and succeed in their chosen fields."
"We mourn the death of Shaka Ssali, an accomplished journalist and proud son of Kigezi, and of Uganda," said Charles Peter Mayiga, premier of Buganda Kingdom.
Generations will be inspired by his voice, wisdom, and commitment to the truth and his career. I offer his family and loved ones my condolences, as well as the Kingdom of Buganda's. Shaka, may you rest in peace.
With Shaka Ssali's passing, an era in African journalism comes to an end.
A legacy that will never be forgotten is left behind by his voice, which was once a weekly staple for millions of viewers throughout the continent.
May his soul be at peace forever.
