Black Sherif (often called Blacko or "Iron Boy") made history on May 9, 2026, by winning the prestigious Artiste of the Year award at the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
This victory marks a significant milestone as he becomes only the third artist in the history of the awards to win the ultimate title twice, joining legends Sarkodie and Stonebwoy.
Black Sherif entered the night as the most nominated artist with nine nods and walked away with several major honors:
●Artiste of the Year: The ultimate prize of the night
●Album/EP of the Year: For his critically acclaimed project, Iron Boy.
●Songwriter of the Year: Awarded for his hit track "Sacrifice".
●Best Afropop Song: Also for "Sacrifice".Best
