Minister Kruah Unveils Decentralization Plan Across All Counties

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Honorable Atty. Cornelia W. Kruah has unveiled an ambitious decentralized national framework aimed at transforming youth development across Liberia, introducing what she described as the “Five Initiatives, One Mission”.

Speaking during a high-level engagement with the Superintendents Council at her office in the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex, Minister Kruah outlined a comprehensive decentralization strategy plan to expand opportunities for young people across all 15 counties.

According to Minister Kruah, the five flagship initiatives are National Youth Cadet Program – targeting the recruitment and placement of 1,000 young people across the 15 counties for national service.

Youth Grants and Business Support Initiative, aimed at empowering 2,000 young entrepreneurs with financial support and capacity-building opportunities.
LTA Digital Skills Training Program – designed to equip 750 youth with essential digital and technological skills. The Graduate Scholarship Program – providing 2,050 scholarships to deserving students nationwide, and the National Youth Leadership Retreat – bringing together 500 emerging youth leaders for mentorship, leadership training, and national engagement.

Minister Kruah emphasized that these initiatives are unified under a single mission: to create sustainable and inclusive pathways for youth empowerment and national development.

Minister Kruah called on county superintendents to collaborate with the Ministry in its decentralization plan and to bring the vision to life.
