During the reporting period (February 5โ€“9, 2026), ๐จ๐ง๐ž (๐Ÿ) ๐ง๐ž๐ฐ ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐Ÿ๐ข๐ซ๐ฆ๐ž๐ ๐Œ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฑ ๐œ๐š๐ฌ๐ž was recorded nationwide. Males account for ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŽ.๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”% of all confirmed cases.

Since the onset of the Mpox outbreak in 2024, Liberia has recorded ๐Ÿ,๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ๐Ÿ— ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐Ÿ๐ข๐ซ๐ฆ๐ž๐ ๐œ๐š๐ฌ๐ž๐ฌ, ๐Ÿ,๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ ๐ซ๐ž๐œ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ฌ, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐Ÿ– ๐๐ž๐š๐ญ๐ก๐ฌ.

Current Incident Management System (IMS) data indicates ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ— ๐š๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐œ๐š๐ฌ๐ž๐ฌ nationwide.

As part of the national response, vaccination efforts are ongoing, with ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŽ,๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ individuals vaccinated to date.

Today, the Office of the Vice President hosted the official presentation of the Revised One Health Governance Manual at Capitol Hill, bringing together key partners including Africa CDC, WHO, NDMA, and NPHIL.

Chief of Office Staff Prince Menkalo Gbeiu, speaking on behalf of Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung, reaffirmed the VPโ€™s commitment to the One Health approach. He conveyed the VPโ€™s deep appreciation to all stakeholders and partners for their contributions to strengthening Liberiaโ€™s health system.

Africa CDCโ€™s Senior Country Representative, Mr. Bakary Sonko, praised Liberia for embracing One Health, stating: โ€œWhat affects one member state affects the other. Letโ€™s continue to see the Africa CDC as our own.โ€

WHOโ€™s Alpha Tamba called for full use of the Manual and urged Liberia to turn challenges into opportunities to strengthen One Health.

Dr. Julius S.M. Gilayeneh, Sr. received the document on behalf of the One Health Technical Committee and called for intentional government support to scale up One Health nationwide.
