We are pleased to announce our collaboration with the Eco Spindles for the project GREEN WHEELS to empower NRCโs existing waste collection employees in order to increase the plastic waste recovery in the Gampaha District.
As a first step, NRC has empowered our collection employee, Mr. Sanduruwan, by providing him with an e-bike to enhance his capacity to collect recyclable waste efficiently and sustainably.
We kindly request your support by handing over your household recyclable waste to him. Your contribution will help increase the countryโs waste recovery rate and create a cleaner, greener community for all.
Letโs work together for a sustainable future! ๐

We are thrilled to announce the implementation of two major initiatives aimed at protecting our vital ecosystems. At the heart of this effort is the "Catalysing Actions to Close the Plastic Loop" projectโa critical step toward a waste-free future.
This project provides technical assistance to the Clean Sri Lanka initiative under the PLEASE project, which is implemented by SACEP and supported by the World Bank.
๐ค Our Collaborative Network
The Negombo Recycling Club (NRC) is honored to be the local implementer, working alongside world-class partners and government authorities:
Technical Support: MAS Foundation for Change & Parley Lanka.
Government Partners: * The Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat
Ministry of Environment
Sri Lanka Land Development Corporation (SLLDC)
Colombo Municipal Council (CMC)
Waste Management Authority (WMA) of Western Province
By "closing the loop," we aren't just cleaning up; we are redesigning how plastic moves through our community to ensure it never reaches our precious wetlands and lagoons.

๐ Beach Clean-Up at Chaddy Beach, Jaffna โป๏ธ
NRC, together with the amazing MESO volunteers, conducted a beach clean-up at Chaddy Beach, Jaffna, recovering 29 kg of plastic and polythene waste to help preserve the beachโs natural beauty.
Beyond clean-ups, we are actively working to identify the root causes of pollution and develop long-term solutions. We invite passionate volunteers to join us in restoring Chaddy Beach to its natural habitat and protecting it for future generations.
๐ Letโs act today for cleaner oceans tomorrow.
