Reinforced Concrete (RCC) behavior:
Concrete is strong in compression but weak in tension.
Steel reinforcement is added in tension zones to resist tensile stresses.
In a simply supported beam, the bottom experiences tension → steel is placed there.
In a cantilever beam, the top is in tension → steel goes on top.
The stress profile shows concrete carrying compression (Fconcrete) and steel carrying tension (Fsteel) — both work together to make the structure strong and balanced.
