With gratitude and deep respect, I remember Rev. Fr. Dr. Camillus Fernando, whose guidance left a lasting impact on my journey. 🙏

After completing my IT degree, I randomly got the chance to attend an interview at Aquinas for a lecturing position. That unexpected moment led me to an even greater opportunity, being referred to Rev. Fr. Dr. Camillus Fernando for an A/L IT teaching urgent vacancy position at Holy Cross College, Kalutara.

At that time, the students did not have a dedicated A/L IT teacher. I walked in with big hopes, but also with fear and uncertainty. Father Camillus conducted my interview and believed in me. He gave me that opportunity, something I will always be grateful for. 💙

Under his guidance, we organized the very FIRST and to this day, the ONLY IT Day at the school. It remains a moment I am deeply proud of, made possible through his encouragement, mentorship, and trust.

Though my time there was short, as I chose to explore new paths in my career, his kind words and guidance stayed with me. I witnessed his dedication, everything he did was for the betterment of the school, the students, and the wider world. 💙

It was deeply saddening to hear of his passing. Yet, I feel truly blessed to have had the chance to pay my last respects and honor for you Father.

May God grant him eternal peace.

April in Sri Lanka always carries a special kind of warmth not just from the sun, but from tradition, family, and togetherness. Sinhala and Tamil New Year, or Aluth Avurudu, is a time filled with rituals, blessings, and shared joy.🌞

After a much-needed holiday break, our team stepped back into the office, but not into routine. We chose to begin our work year by giving priority to something deeper: our Sri Lankan culture. 🇱🇰

The day started with kiri ithirawima, the boiling of milk, symbolizing prosperity and new beginnings. As the milk overflowed, so did the laughter and excitement around us. We then lit the oil lamp together, marking light, hope, and a fresh start for everyone.

From there, it turned into a celebration of everything Avurudu stands for, sitting together to enjoy traditional sweets, sharing stories, and most importantly, creating memories. What truly made the day special was watching the younger team members step forward with so much energy and enthusiasm, embracing Avurudu games with pure joy. It was refreshing, heartwarming, and honestly inspiring. 💙

This wasn’t just another day at work. It was a reminder that a workplace can be more than deadlines; it can be a space filled with culture, connection, and happiness.🩵

A fun-filled, energetic start to the year… and definitely one to remember. 🌼
