Sigiriya: This ancient fortress and UNESCO World Heritage Site is located in the central part of Sri Lanka. It was built in the 5th century by King Kasyapa as a royal palace and fortress. The fortress is located on top of a 200-meter-high rock, which offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Visitors can explore the palace ruins, including the frescoes, gardens, and water gardens that were built over 1500 years ago.
